MILTON-FREEWATER -- Construction is set to begin today on Main Street between South Second and Southeast 14th avenues.
Improvements will include sidwalk ramps, water line replacements, pedestrian safety measures and striping and replacement of asphalt in the parking lanes, according to a city news release.
Taylor Northwest of Bend, Ore., won the contract for the work from the city.
Construction is expected to last through October, according to the release.
The release warned of traffic delays of up to 20 minutes at times during the project.
The project's $540,000 budget is paid for with federal funds.
