Annual WWU Christmas concerts Friday

COLLEGE PLACE -- Walla Walla University's Department of Music presents "Eternal Purposes," its annual Christmas concert in performances at 6 and 8 p.m. Friday at the University Church, 212 S.W. Fourth St.

Music from Handel's "Messiah" will be featured and celebrates the birth of Jesus and hope beyond the Nativity. Admission is free.

There will be choral performances by the University Singers and I Cantori, both directed by Kraig Scott.

The WWU symphony orchestra, directed by Brandon Beck, will also perform.

In addition, there will be solo performances by university students and music instructors. The audience can participate in congregational singing.

Other selections include, "Sing We Now of Christmas,"The Christmas Story," pastoral symphony, "Worth is the Lamb," "For Unto Us a Child is Born," among other musical selections.
