James Andrew Anderson passed away Nov. 29, 2011, in Bothell, Wash. Jim was born at Patterson, Wash., July 7, 1916, the son of James Andrew Anderson and Bessi Goff Anderson. As a student at Touchet High School, Jim played football and baseball. He married Marjorie Evelyn Munns of Touchet in 1939. The couple moved to Walla Walla where he went to work for the Union Pacific Railroad.
In 1946, the couple moved to Pasco where Jim began working for the Northern Pacific Railroad. He worked for the Northern Pacific for 33 years from 1946 to 1979 when he retired. Jim and Marjorie made their home in Pasco from 1946 to 2006. When Marjorie passed away, Jim moved to Lynnwood, Wash., to be near his daughter, Mary Anderson Wimer, son-in-law, Barney, granddaughter, Wendy Wimer Hill, grandson-in-law, John Hill and two great granddaughters, Brooke and Brinkley.
He leaves one brother, Perry Anderson of Walla Walla, and follows in death his parents, his wife and siblings, Helen Kissinger, Louis Anderson and Dorothy Sutherland.
Viewing and visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 2, from noon-8 p.m. at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder St., Walla Walla. The graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 3, at 11 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery with Barney Wimer officiating.
