WALLA WALLA - Baseball players between the ages of 8 and 18 are invited to a Whitman College Winter Baseball Camp Dec. 28-30 at the Sherwood Athletic Center on the Whitman campus.
Hours for the camp are 3-6 p.m. each day. The camp takes place in Sherwood's lower-level multi-purpose gymnasium, which is equipped with indoor batting cages.
Campers will be placed in age- and skill-appropriate groups for sessions that range from stretching, running and throwing to work stations specific to hitting and defensive skills.
Camp director Mark Michaud is pitching coach for Whitman during the spring collegiate season and for the Walla Walla Sweets during the summer wood-bat season for some of the top collegians in the country.
The camp staff also includes Whitman head baseball coach Jared Holowaty, who captained Eastern Connecticut's 2002 NCAA Division III national championship team, and three coaches from Walla Walla Community College - J.C. Biagi, Rob Holtzinger and Cesar Lopez.
Cost of the three-day camp is $100 per player.
