WALLA WALLA - Walla Walla police arrested a 14-year-old Monday on investigation of second-degree burglary.
The boy and another 14-year-old suspect appear to have broken into Macy's, 54 E. Main St., around 10:19 p.m., police said. Officers responded to the department store's burglar alarm, and discovered the youths in the store.
Police took one into custody, but the other suspect escaped. Police believe they know who he is. The teen under arrest will likely face felony burglary charges, and could face felony theft charges in the incident.
"Macy's is still compiling a list (of items stolen)," said Sgt. Matt Wood. "We did find some clothing that had been staged outside the store."
Wood said it isn't yet clear how the pair gained access to the store, but they may have used a key found on the scene.
