Collin Ray Snider, Athena, passed away Dec. 2, 2011, at his home at the age of 18 years. Memorial services will be Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at 2 p.m., at the Weston-McEwen High School Gymnasium with Pastor Bill Dobos officiating. Viewing will be Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011, 1-5 and 7-9 P.M. at the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home in Milton-Freewater. Memorial contributions may be made to the Collin Snider Scholarship Fund (for firefighters) through the funeral home.
Collin was born May 31, 1993, in Pendleton, the son of Timothy L. and Deanna M. Sloan Snider. He was a senior and attended Weston-McEwen High School. Collin lived in Athena and for part of his earlier years, in Weston. He had worked with the Walla Walla Forestry Service in the Youth Corps program as well as for local farmers and families. Collin was currently working on completing a certificate in wildland fire fighting. He was going to continue his education in Forestry/Fire Fighting. The East Umatilla County RFPD was the department that was honoring Collin's quest to achieve. He will be missed by so many but will leave them with many great and wonderful memories.
Collin is survived by his parents, Tim and Dee Snider of Athena; a sister, Ciara DeVink of Milton-Freewater; grandparents, Cliff and Ann Jensen of Spokane, Wanda Sloan of Athena; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. xx
