Ocean Spray has added five additional "Best By" code dates to its voluntary recall issued Nov. 25 of a limited number of production lots of "Original Flavor Craisins Dried Cranberries" in five, 10 and 48-ounce packages, sold in western states including Oregon and Washington.
Ocean Spray took this precautionary measure due to the possible presence of very small hair-like metal fragments that are unlikely to cause consumer injury, according to the U.S. Drug and Food Administration. No injuries or complaints associated with the recalled product have been reported.
No other Ocean Spray brand products are affected.
The following sell dates, all followed by the letter M, were added to the recall:
5-ounce Craisins, UPC: 00293-000, "Best By" of Oct. 28, 2012.
10-ounce Craisins, UPC: 29456-000 and 29464-000, "Best By" of Oct. 30, 2012.
