Grace Alva Hendrix, age 80, died Tuesday, Dec. 06, 2011 at a Yukon hospital after a sudden illness. She was born Dec. 20, 1930, on the family farm near Greenfield, Okla., to Robert G. and Myrtle G (Vermillion) Johnson. She was delivered by her father.
She moved with the family at 10 to Oregon where she lived for many years. She worked many years in nursing and moved to the Mustang/Yukon community in 1999. She was a member of Mustang Heights Baptist Church, where she was active in the WMU, Mustang American Legion, Post 353, Auxiliary and Oklahoma Mustang Car Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Richard Cloud and Robert L. Hendrix; one daughter, Debora; one granddaughter, Tiffany; three brothers, Orville, Sherman, Arthur; and three sisters, Elsie, Elda and Peggy.
Survivors include four sons, Steven L. Hendrix and wife, Dianne, of Mustang, Robert B. Hendrix and wife, Melissa, of Hesperia, Calif., Roger L. Cloud of Mustang, Bradley D. Hendrix and wife, Tracey, of Walla Walla, four daughters, Shelley Demianew and husband, Tim, of Walla Walla, Becky G. Baumgardener and husband, Lance, of Renton, Wash., Threasa L. Walton and husband, J.R., of Mustang and Donna R. Graefe of Crowley, Texas. Also by a host of grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 9, at Mustang Heights Baptist Church, Mustang, Okla., with additional services to be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 12, at Herring-Groseclose Funeral Home in Walla Walla. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, College Place.
