- SHEPHERD FOUNDATION: Learned the Harold and Helen Shepherd Foundation awarded $68,050 to the county. Awards were for improvements to the jail visitor's center, $15,000; East Washington Agriculture History Museum, $35,000 for building program; library, $3,000; health district, $800; 4-H camp, $1,000 for camperships; fairgrounds, $1,250 for beef scale repairs, and $5,000 for the Pony Punchers; and fire district, $7,000 for blood pressure monitoring equipment.
- TAX LEVY: Signed a resolution setting tax levy setting to take full advantage of new construction and wind turbines. The levy includes a 1.02 percent increase for current expense and 1.0368 percent for the county road fund. Unanimous.
- FIRE DISTRICT: Discussed replacement of law enforcement, road department and fire district radios with narrow band equipment. Fire Chief Kris Darby told commissioners $17,000 is allocated in the budget for the radios.
- STEWARDSHIP: Temporarily adjourned meeting at 3:50 and reconvened at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the voluntary stewardship program. Commissioners reviewed the law, and talked with members of the public who were present. Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the program at a later date.
