DAYTON - The Dayton boys basketball team gained a 40-point lead at the end of the third quarter over the Pomeroy Pirate boys Tuesday night, and cruised to an 82-38 victory.

Garett Turner led the scoring for the Bulldogs with 33 points. Turner attempted 27 shots, 16 of which he hit.

Kroft Sunderland contributed 15 points, while Hayden Fullerton threw in 11 and Joey Schlachter added another 10.

The Bulldogs once again brought their best defense, with Sunderland getting 10 rebounds, Schlachter had seven and Wyatt Frame and Turner added four more rebounds each.

Pomeroy was led by Riley Bott's 11 points. Matt FitzGerald had five of the Pirates' 14 rebounds in the game.

Dayton next hosts Southeast 2B League rival Waitsburg-Prescott at 7:30 p.m. Friday before Asotin comes to town Saturday.

Pomeroy heads to Lacrosse-Washtucna at 7:30 p.m. Friday, and then to Garfield-Palouse on Saturday.
