COLLEGE PLACE - A 27-14, fourth quarter comeback, wasn't enough for Walla Walla Valley Academy to overcome the 52-29 lead Asotin had built through the first three quarters of Tuesday's match as the Knights fell, 66-56, to the Panthers.

WWVA Junior point guard Matt Moore was held to 18 points, seven less than his average of 25 per game; and senior shooting guard Daniel Lomeland was held to 10 points - 15 off of his 25 points per game through the first two games.

"Asotin played a very good game, they came out ready to play in the first half," WWVA coach Scott Wagner said in an e-mail. "We did not shoot well in first half and got into trouble by not playing tough defense."

Junior wing Alex Wagner chipped in 15 points for the Knights - three more than his average of 12 points per game.

WWVA drops to 2-1 and hosts Waitsburg-Prescott Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
