WALLA WALLA - The Walla Walla YMCA is still taking registrations for the Youth Basketball Leagues.
Basketball leagues are for boys in first-eighth grades. First and second-graders play 3-on-3, third graders plays 4-on-4 and fourth grade and up play 5-on-5.
Regular basketball rules apply from fourth grade and up. Games will be
competitive, with equal playing time for everybody.
Participants get a program T-shirt, practice twice a week and games will be played on Saturdays starting at 9 a.m.
Fees are $48 for YMCA members, $69 program members, and financial assistance is available.
The Y will also be offering a Free Basketball Clinic for third-fifth graders from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Dec. 19-20, and the same times Dec. 21-22 for sixth-eighth graders. Camp will emphasize dribbling and shooting by coach Stephen Garnett.
Volunteer coaches are needed. From 6:30-8 p.m. on Jan. 10 and 12, there will be a coaches clinic and training.
