LETTERS TO THE EDITOR - Show at Power House Theatre a success

I'm writing this on behalf of Mark Anderson and Dennis Ledford, who are managing members of the Power House Theatre along with me.

"Marilyn: Forever Blonde!" at the Power House Theatre was a huge success! During the four-week run 4,200 people attended the performance (many of you several times). There were sell-outs, an extended run and standing ovations. At 97 percent of maximum capacity, Walla Walla had the best total audience of any theater during the world tour of "Marilyn: Forever Blonde!"

Sunny Thompson said Walla Walla is one of her favorite cities to play in four years of touring show and she had loved Walla Walla audiences. Following her closing performance, Sunny spoke for several minutes passionately about the special relationship with Walla Walla audiences, and with a tear in her eye she said she hoped to return soon.

On behalf of the Power House Theatre, we want to express our sincere appreciation to the many people who helped to make this ambitious production a big success - the audience for coming night after night and for spreading the word about the show; to the countless volunteers and suppliers who helped with our box office, concessions, and ushering; to Olive Catering and Andrae's Kitchen for their culinary wizardry; to all of our wine and corporate sponsors, program advertisers and the transformers for financial support; to the technical and backstage crew who made the theater an extraordinary experience; and to the city of Walla Walla, Tourism Walla Walla, the Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Foundation for their parts in making the production such a success!

We will be announcing the 2012 season soon. You can look forward to a season of great professional performances in the Power House Theatre including song, music, comedy, dance, opera and three of the best loved works of Shakespeare!
