WALLA WALLA -- A Walla Walla man faces felony charges and $50,000 in bail after leading city police on a 25-minute car chase Monday.
Police arrested Daniel Brasel, 49, Monday night on investigation of attempting to elude police after a patrol officer attempted to pull Brasel over in the Safeway parking lot on Rose Street for allegedly driving with a suspended license.
Brasel left the parking lot at roughly 10:33 p.m. and headed south on Palouse Street, according to a police report submitted in court this morning. Brasel continued south, eventually coming to a dead end in a subdivision and then cutting across a wheat field, police said.
Brasel eventually ended up on Cottonwood Road and evaded an attempt to use a spike strip by a Walla Walla County sheriff's deputy, police said.
Brasel then turned onto Pikes Peak Road, where his flight was stopped by a metal gate across the road, police said. Brasel was taken into custody without further incident at roughly 10:58 p.m.
