Change in the weather allows burn ban to expire

WALLA WALLA -- A burn ban covering all of Walla Walla County will expire today due to a change in weather conditions.

The county was one of seven put under the ban due to stagnant air conditions which trapped smoke particles close to the ground.

The ban by the Washington state Department of Ecology prohibited use of uncertified wood-burning devices such as stoves and fireplaces unless those were a home's only source of heat.

All outdoor burning was also prohibited.
