LA GRANDE - Weston-McEwen's Dallas Reich scored 29 points to help lead the TigerScots to a 64-58 victory over Joseph Wednesday night in the first round of the Optimus Tournament in La Grande.

W-M held several large lead on the night, but struggled to shut the Eagles down.

"We had an 11-point lead in the first half and we had several double digit leads in the second half, and we let them back into it," W-M coach Brian Pickard said. "It's just those mental mistakes that we have to fix and get ready to go for tonight."

Ron Terjeson scored eight points in the victory.

The TigerScots now advance to the semifinals against Imbler tonight at 7:30. Win or lose, W-M plays again Friday in either the championship or consolation game at 7:30 or 4:30, respectively.

Other Blue Mountain Conference teams at the eight-team tournament include Pilot Rock and Union.
