The Umatilla County Sheriff's Office is asking for help identifying the owners of multiple items believed stolen. In a press release issued Wednesday, the office reported numerous items, including a snowmobile, a gun and fuel tanks, have been recovered during an investigation into area thefts.
"There were multiple locations," said Sheriff John Trumbo. "It started out small, and the more we worked it, the bigger it got."
Trumbo stated the investigation led detectives to Pendleton, Hermiston and Milton-Freewater and may be linked to additional locations.
"It's probably going to get into Washington state before it's over," Trumbo said. "Arrests could be coming down the road."
The items the Sheriff's Office is asking for help with include a Yamaha Max snowmobile, several large trailers, a 9mm handgun and a 1,000-gallon fuel tank.
