KENNEWICK - Kamiakin used a 21-6 second-quarter run to build a 35-12 halftime lead here Friday in boys non-conference basketball action.

Wa-Hi never recovered as the Braves went on to post a 65-36 win.

"We had 12 turnovers in the first half and missed some shots," Wa-Hi coach John Golden said. "We didn't handle their pressure in the second quarter."

The Blue Devils played on a more even keel with the Braves over the second 16 minutes, but on the night had no answer for 6-foot-6 Justin Pedley. Pedley led all scorers with 21 points.

"We played better in the second half," Golden said. "We defended pretty well in the halfcourt, we just got down too much in the first half."

Rob Ferenz led the Blue Devils with 11 points on 5-of-10 shooting. Nick Peasley added eight and Josh Eggers and Spencer Locati led the Wa-Hi rebounders with five each.

Wa-Hi drops to 4-6 on the year and returns to Columbia Basin Big Nine 4A action Friday at Davis before returning home Saturday to host Wenatchee.
