WAITSBURG - Three Waitsburg-Prescott boys basketball players scored in double-figures and the team outrebounded St. John-Endicott, 46-21, in a 86-62 victory Friday.
Zach Bartlow lit up the scoreboard with 31 points, Dustin Wooderchak had 21 and Billy Brown had 14 points for W-P.
Brown added 13 rebounds and Bartlow had 12 boards.
W-P led by only one point at halftime, and then came out to explode for 30 points in the third quarter to take control of the game.
"Bartlow and Wooderchak got to the hoop and got some easy buckets," W-P coach T.J. Scott said. "That was the difference in the game, we got better looks than them. We attacked the hoop and they shot the three. They made eight 3s, but shot a lot of them too."
It was a good opponent in St. John-Endicott, according to Scott.
"They had some ballplayers, some good guard play and they had a 6-foot-7 kid in the middle who was tough," he said. "They hurt us bad in that second quarter. St.John-Endicott went on a run to cut our lead from 12 to one in that second period."
In the third period, W-P doubled St.John-Endicott 30-15 and then outscored them by 10 points in the fourth.
"The effort was good," Scott said, "and we played well. I'm happy with the performance."
W-P's record is now 4-5 and are 1-1 in league.
They play again at home against Weston-McEwen Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
