Family-friendly entertainment is coming to a stage at Inland Octopus starting this month.
The downtown Walla Walla toy store will host "Sundays at 4," a weekly show that will feature music, storytelling, puppet shows, skits, talent shows, magic, juggling and other youth- and family-oriented performances, according to an announcement this morning from Inland Octopus owner Bob Catsiff.
The first show is begins Feb. 13. Walla Walla's Mr. Magic will take to the stage for a performance of prestidigitation -- also known as sleight of hand -- and animal balloon-tying.
The 4 p.m. shows will run through May 8, except for Easter, Catsiff said. Inland Octopus is located at 7 E. Main St., next to Bright's Candies. For more information call 526-0115 or e-mail Catsiff at firstname.lastname@example.org .
CrossRoads Steakhouse will soon be offering an outdoor experience.
The downtown restaurant located in the historic Dacres building has received its permit to add an outdoor seating area for its lounge.
Owner Kim Kelly-Frank has been working with Paul Fischer and Garren Smith at Integrity Metal Fab on a design that represents the strength of the brand and fits the age of the building. The top of the posts will be square and the long steel rods connecting them will look as if they've been wrapped in barbed wire.
Construction of the rails is still in the works. But the approval of the permit will assure that installation can take place as soon as they're finished.
