YAKIMA - Wa-Hi's girls picked up a 67-44 Big Nine Class 4A victory over Eisenhower here Tuesday night, and along with comes a playoff berth.

"We earned ourselves a playoff game and we'll see what will happen," said Wa-Hi coach Jill Meliah.

Wa-Hi is likely in fifth place, Meliah said.

Final seedings will be determined after the regular season concludes Saturday.

Wa-Hi (8-10 overall, 4-7 in league) was led by Jaiden Hodnefield's 18 points, all coming on six 3-pointers.

And no Blue Devil was scoreless.

"It was a great team effort," Meliah said. "Everybody scored, which is always nice. We were sitting in the zone and both Libby (Jimenez) and Jaiden were hot. Any time you have 10 3-pointers, it's a good night for us."

Jimenez had 12 points and four treys.

The Blue Devils outrebounded the Cadets, 52-34, led by Gabby Anderson's 13.

"Gabby and Sydney Christensen did a great job on the boards," Meliah said. "We were able to get the rebound and get out and go."

Wa-Hi had 13 turnovers to Ike's 18.

"I was very pleased with the mental intensity and physical play," Meliah said.

Wa-Hi likely will travel to Wenatchee for the first round of the playoffs, but games this weekend will determine playoff seeding.

The Blue Devils play at Chiawana (14-2 overall, 9-1 in league) on senior night Saturday.

"It'll be really tough," Meliah said of Saturday's game. "They're a great team, so I look at it as a game we play to get better and focus on hopefully getting a first-round playoff upset."
