WAITSBURG - Waitsburg-Prescott's girls remained undefeated and picked up another Southeast 2B League basketball win Wednesday night.

W-P (16-0 overall, 9-0 in league) topped Walla Walla Valley Academy, 64-23, behind 17 points from Ronnie Hulce and 15 from Megan Withers.

"It was a pretty solid game for us," said W-P coach Jerry Baker. "WWVA is very young and they played very hard. (Head coach) Monty Buell is doing a good job with them, but they're inexperienced. We have a little more experience then they do."

W-P's defense shut down WWVA's offense on the night, with the Knights' Kristi Buell scoring 15 of WWVA's 23 total points in the game.

The victory keeps W-P moving towards the postseason and district tournament after the last three regular-season games conclude. W-P next hosts DeSales on Saturday.

"They're by far the quickest team we've played all year," Baker said of the Irish. "They gave us fits the first time we played them, so we're looking forward to that. It should be a good game."

Walla Walla Valley Academy is still searching for its first league win. The Knights play at Tri-Cities Prep tonight.
