POMEROY - St. John-Endicott spoiled Pomeroy's final home game of the season, picking up a 53-50 Southeast 1B boys basketball win Saturday night.

Pomeroy led by as many as nine points in the third quarter but couldn't hold on.

"We had some untimely turnovers at the end and missed a gimme shot," said Pomeroy head coach Brian Koller. "They took the lead with about 15 seconds left and we came down and missed a baseline shot. We got the rebound, but we fouled and they made two free throws to end it."

Sean Beale led the Pirates with 15 points on the night.

The Pirates fell to 4-10 in league and 5-15 overall with the loss. But their season isn't over. Pomeroy will play Garfield-Palouse in a playoff game Thursday.
