OAKESDALE - Touchet's boys basketball team ran its winning streak to five games and locked up the No.5 seed in its conference with a 38-32 win over Tekoa-Oakesdale on the road Saturday night.

The victory sets the Indians up for a road trip and game against St. John-Endicott on Thursday in the first round of the playoffs at a time yet to be determined for Touchet (8-11, 6-8).

"I can't tell you how proud of our guys I am," said Touchet head coach Tim McKeown. "We fought through some foul trouble tonight and our second team came through. For them to pick us up is a true testiment to our team."

Matt Kates lead Touchet with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Jake Hodnefield chipped in four assists.

"It was a kind of sloppy game, but we gritted it out," McKeown said. "We trailed in the second half, but our guys pulled it together and got another win.

"Obviously this is the time of year that we want to be playing our best and right now we are."
