ELGIN - Weston-McEwen picked up a 30-28 win over Elgin in Blue Mountain Conference girls basketball Saturday.

The win moves the TigerScots to 6-6 in league and 9-12 overall and into third place in their league.

Elgin led 13-10 at the half, but Weston-McEwen had a 14-9 third-quarter run to grab the lead.

"Our intensity in the locker room over halftime really helped us with the third quarter," said W-M coach Amber Doremus. "That was the momentum swing of the game."

The TigerScots held the Huskies to 21 rebounds, just three offensive, on the night.

"Our girls worked really hard to limit their boards," Doremus said. "We worked really hard on rebounds and half-court defense."

The win puts the TigerScots in third place in their league with two games to go on the season. The results of other Saturday games and the last league matchups will determine their postseason play.

The TigerScots host Irrigon Friday and travel to Stanfield Saturday.
