Barbara Lee Waldher Stradley, 77, of Pomeroy passed way Jan. 28, 2011. She was born March 12, 1933, to Dorathea Taylor Waldher and Leo Waldher in Pomeroy. She attended Holy Rosary Catholic School and Pomeroy High School.
Barb married Howard Stradley on July 8, 1949, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Clarkston. He passed away in 1994.
She raised her family near Dodge, while Howard farmed and raised cattle. Barb worked in various restaurants in the area to help out. She and Howard resided in Spokane, Walla Walla, Prescott and Alaska.
She worked for three years in Fairbanks, Alaska, working at a resort. Barb was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Pomeroy, Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Walla Walla and the Veterans
of Foreign Wars in Pomeroy. She loved to garden and especially loved her flowers. She enjoyed traveling and went many places, including Italy, France and Germany with her brother, Steve. She also loved her
trips to Hawaii with the Stiffils of Walla Walla when she was their nanny.
Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Stairs of Clinton, Mont., and Cathy Babb and husband Larry of Sumner, Wash; son, David Stradley and wife Elise of Puyallup, Wash; three brothers, Jack Waldher and
wife Edith of Lewiston, Dan Waldher and wife Sharon of Asotin, Wash., and Steve Waldher and wife Shaleen of Richland; seven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Howard; a nephew, Patrick Waldher; and a great-niece, Pamela Waldher.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Pomeroy with a luncheon to follow at the Catholic school. Memorial donations may be made to the Holy Rosary Catholic Church or the Catholic Cemetery Fund.
