STANFIELD - Weston-McEwen locked up its Blue Mountain Conference title on Friday with a 74-72 over Stanfield.

The TigerScots rallied from an early deficit to score the victory with just four seconds remaining on a Tyler Babb bucket.

"This is the second year Tyler has beaten Stanfield with just a few seconds on the clock," said W-M coach Brian Pickard. "This was a huge win for us."

W-M was paced by Babb's 23 points and 26 from Dallas Reich, which was two off his season high.

"We turned things around in the second quarter," Pickard said. "This was one of our better offensive games."

The win moves W-M to 18-5 overall and 12-2 in league play.

The game was tied at 68 with just over a minute remaining before W-M built a 72-69 lead. A trio of free throws by Stanfield evened the score before Babb's ultimate score.

"I'm really proud of our guys right now," Pickard said. "This was a hard fought win."

The victory earns W-M a first round bye (is bye correct, Kevin?) in the Oregon Class 2A playoffs, so the team won't take the floor again until Saturday.
