WAITSBURG - Senior Night.

A time to reflect.

A time to celebrate.

A time to crush a league opponent.

Megan Withers scored a game-high 18 points and Genesis Pearson added 12 points and 15 rebounds here Friday night to lead Southeast 2B League champion Waitsburg-Prescott to a 48-24 victory over Tri-Cities Prep in a girls high school basketball mismatch at Kison Court.

"Genesis has been doing that for us all year long," W-P coach Jerry Baker said. "Megan can go off for 18-20 points every night."

W-P, ranked seventh in the latest Class 2B state poll, took an 11-0 league record and 18-0 overall mark into its regular-season finale at Liberty Christian Saturday night.

Withers and Pearson went to work right away by tallying 10 of Waitsburg-Prescott's 16 first-quarter points.

Defensively, W-P held the Jaguars to five points in the opening period on 2-for-11 shooting.

Pearson dominated the second quarter with six points and five rebounds as the home team extended its margin to 12, 28-16, by halftime.

Withers starred in the third quarter with three makes on five field-goal tries and seven points overall.

"Ronnie had another good night," Baker said. "Hulce and (Dionna) Baker have been pretty dominant. We have more depth than we've had in a long time. I'm trying to find that extra girl I can throw in come playoff time.

"It's going to get tougher from here on out."
