Dayton girls out with loss

RICHLAND - Dayton's girls ended their basketball season with a 58-41 loss to Liberty Christian in a Southeast 2B district play-in game Monday night.

Nicole Lambert and McKayla Bickelhaupt each scored 12 points for the Bulldogs, while Jayven Moore had 19 to lead the Patriots to the victory.

Liberty Christian jumped out to a 19-5 lead in the first quarter, but Dayton played to a 29-16 halftime deficit. But an 18-8 fourth-quarter run wasn't enough for the Bulldogs to continue their season.

Liberty Christian advances to play at No. 1-seed Waitsburg-Prescott at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
