Pomeroy boys can't top SJE

COLFAX - It was a rough night for the Pomeroy boys basketball team as the Pirates fell to St. John-Endicott in overtime, 61-54, on Tuesday in a Southeast 1B District tournament elimination game.

The Pirates held a 15-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, but it evaporated and the Eagles forced overtime.

In the bonus frame, St. John-Endicott dominated the Pirates and closed out the seven-point victory on a 10-3 run.

Pomeroy was lead by 17 points from Justin Ruark.

The Pirates also got five assists from Sean Beale.
