WAITSBURG -- An opportunity to discuss tourism opportunities in Waitsburg, Dayton, Dixie, Prescott, Starbuck and the Touchet Valley will bring together business owners and stakeholders and those interested in tourism Thursday at Ye Town Hall in Waitsburg.
The "Meet & Greet" is the first of what is expected to be a monthly event, according to Joy Smith, Waitsburg business owner and one of the founding members of the Touchet Valley Tourism Alliance.
The Alliance, the brainchild of Imbert Mathee, publisher of The Times of Waitsburg, will soon have a board and 501c nonprofit status, Smith said. Mathee has been assisted in organization efforts by Kelly Stephenson, co-owner of Bluewood, and Reggie Mace, owner of Mace Mead Works. The event is open to the public, and those attending should feel free to bring information about their business, industry or trade group that could be shared by others with visitors and/or residents. The event begins at 6 p.m. and includes refreshments, tapas and tourism information, Smith said.
