WAITSBURG - It's 20 times out and 20 victories in a row for the Waitsburg-Prescott girls basketball team after a 57-29 Southeast 2B District tournament win at home versus Liberty Christian Tuesday night.

The victory punches W-P's ticket to a District championship against DeSales at Whitman College's Sherwood Center at 6 p.m. Friday.

"We started out strong, and that's how you set up a win like this," said W-P head coach Jerry Baker. "We shot well and got off to a good start, so we were able to rely on defense."

W-P (12-0 league, 20-0 overall) was paced by an 11-point, seven-rebound night from Genesis Pearson.

"We ran 12 girls out there tonight and they all scored," Baker said. "That's a huge reflection on our team."

Krystal Withers and Megan Harris also chipped in three assists each to help key W-P's balanced scoring attack.

"This is how we have worked on moving the ball," Baker said. "Playing like this definitely gets us stoked for Friday."
