First Congregational slates soup, pie lunch Wednesday

WALLA WALLA - First Congregational Church, 73 S. Palouse St. will host a soup and pie luncheon from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday in the fellowship hall. Soups include tomato bisque and chicken noodle.

The luncheon also includes roll, pie and beverage for a $6 donation. Children under 10 free. Proceeds will fund the church Families in Need project. Call 509-525-8753 for details.

University Church to host veterinarian, author

COLLEGE PLACE - University Church, 212 S.W. Fourth St., will host Tennesee veterinarian and author Bruce Coston, 11 a.m. March 1. Coston in the author of "Ask the Animals: A Vet's-Eye View of Pets and the People They Love." Coston will sign copies of his book at the Walla Walla University Bookstore, 295 S. Grace Christian Center to host author, prayer counselor

WALLA WALLA - Grace Christian Center, 49 Wallula Ave., Suite A, will host author and Christian prayer counselor Ed Kurath for a conference entitled: "Divinely Designed - Being Changed into the Image of Jesus: Inner Healing Simplified" from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Saturday.

Kurath holds a Master's Degree in counseling and is a licensed professional counselor and marriage and family therapist.

He is the author of "I Will Give You Rest," available at the conference for $15. A workbook for the conference and to study with the book can be downloaded free at divinelydesigned.com/workbook.html

St. Paul Episcopal to host First Thursday concert

WALLA WALLA - The St. Paul's Episcopal Church First Thursday concert will be 12:15-12:55 p.m. on March 3. Musical groups from Walla Walla Valley Academy, directed by Ben Gish and Jeremy Irland, will perform Donations go to the charity of the performers' choice. Call 529-1083 for information.
