Marvin J. Vandersloot

November 23, 1935 - February 15, 2011

College Place resident Marvin "Van" Vandersloot, 75, died February 15, 2011 in Mesa, Arizona.

A private inurment will be held on March 3rd, at the Blue Mountain Memorial Gardens in College Place. A memorial reception for family and friends will be held at 12 p.m. March 3, 2011, at his home, 840 SE Parkside, College Place, WA. Memorial contributions may be made to Walla Walla Community Hospice.

Marvin "Van" Vandersloot was born November 23, 1935, in Sheldon, Iowa to Gerritt and Clara Vandersloot, the oldest of 3 sons. He married Arlis Klein on June 7, 1956 in Sheldon, Iowa.

Marvin was always a very active and dedicated member of his church. He loved to travel and explore, meeting new people and always making friends.

During his career in business he held many positions but his favorite job was being a grandparent to his grandson Maxwell.

He is survived by his brother Charles Vandersloot of Grand Rapids, Michigan; daughter Vicki Longhini, and son James Vandersloot and grandson Maxwell Vandersloot

He was preceded in death by his parents Gerritt and Clara Vandersloot; brother Gary; and wife Arlis.
