Mary Ruth McDonald, 60, passed away on Feb. 18, 2011, at her home in Milton-Freewater.
Mary Ruth McDonald was born in Madera, Calif., on Aug. 19, 1950. She was born to Paul and Margaret Clark Hooton. She lived most of her childhood in Dayton, Calif.
She moved to Milton-Freewater, where she met and married Jerry McDonald. She worked from Sam's Corner Market for a number of years until ill health forced her retirement. Her hobbies included ceramics, gardening and decorating her home.
She is survived by her husband at the home; her two daughters, Terrie Rodriguez and husband Fred of Oakley, Calif., and Jaylene Leinbach and husband Darren of Milton-Freewater; four brothers, Walter Texeira, Jerry Hooton and wife Donna of Paradise, Calif., Paul Hooton Jr., Robert Hooton of Laguna Beach, Calif., as well as four sisters, Judy Parks and husband Mike of Klamath Falls, Ore., Patty Johnson and husband Johnny of Walla Walla, Ida Williams and husband Steve and Sally Hanna of Milton-Freewater; her grandchildren, Michael Rodriguez, Nicole Adler, Jaime Rodriguez, Jordan Leinbach and Kaci Leinbach; a great-grandson, Aiden Leinbach; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Levi Leinbach; and great-granddaughter, Jade Leinbach.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be missed greatly.
The memorial funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, at 2 p.m. with Rev. John Murphy officiating at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla. Memorial contributions may be made to the OHSU Liver Transplant through the funeral home.
