Donna Winter-Zipf

Donna was born Jan. 8, 1956, in Dayton to Leslie and Mary Keen. She grew up in Dayton and Wishram, Wash. In 1972 she married Lyle Winter. They had a daughter together. Lyle died in 1978. In 1989, Donna married Dale Zipf. They lived in Walla Walla.

Donna worked as a waitress, pre-school teacher, cook and homemaker until ill health forced her into retirement. She enjoyed an active life with her family. Her grandchildren were most important to her. She also enjoyed camping, boating, gardening, visiting friends and neighbors.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Terri Blanchard of Prescott. She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Paula Price (Rick) of Spokane, Suzette Zipf of Salem, Ore., seven sisters and one brother, Brenda Bukkila (Brian) of Ridgefield, Wash., Connie Brackett (Jason) of Milwaukie, Ore., Michele Bridges of Eugene, Ore., Rane's Schwinof (Mike) of Ridgefield, Wash., Jennifer Chancellor of Portland, Ore., John Roberts of North Carolina and Kim Roberts of Portland, Ore. She has four grandchildren; Kristofer, Kaelyn, Hyan and Landon.

A get-together in her memory will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, at 2 p.m. at 1396 Dalles Military Road.
