Grace Christian Center to host the Backlunds today

WALLA WALLA - Grace Christian Center, 49 Wallula Ave., will host Steve and Wendy Backlund at 6 p.m. today.

The Backlunds are from Bethel Church in Redding, Calif.

They have pastored several churches, written several books and are founders of Ignited Hope Ministries.

WALLA WALLA - Walla Walla Healing Rooms will be open for prayer for healing from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Pioneer House, 1018 Whitman St.

Christian Women's Connection lunch is Jan. 12

DAYTON - Christian Women's Connection will host a luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Jan. 12 at the Seneca Activity Center in Dayton.

The luncheon will be catered by Dayton General Hospital.

The cost is $9. Babysitting is available.

For reservations, which are necessary, or to cancel them, call Judy Jackson at 509-399-2005 by Jan. 10.

This luncheon is an extra special event. Bring your husband, a date or a male friend.

Martin Venneberg, a former engineer at Boeing, will speak about problem-solving in an engineer's world.

Venneberg is a graduate of the Univeristy of Washington. He enjoys outdoor activities.

Chuck Reeves will sing.

Because it is National Eye Care Month, Catherine Schuck, O.D., an optometric physician will be featured. She owns and operates Blue Columbia Eye Care in Dayton and has an office in Pasco.

Come and learn about how you can take better care of your eyes.

SonBridge Community Center offers Beth Moore Bible study

COLLEGE PLACE - SonBridge Community Center, 1200 S.E. 12th St., will host a series entitled, "Esther: It's Tough Being a Woman" from noon to 1 p.m. each Wednesday, starting Jan. 12 and running through March 16.

The event is a DVD Bible study led by Beth Moore, a Christian speaker and author.

It will be facilitated by Sherrice Croft and Julie Sanders Keymer.

There will also be a Crown Money Map Seminar to learn about personal finances. The seminar will take place 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Jan. 16. The fee is $25 per person.
