MILTON-FREEWATER - Mac-Hi's girls basketball team fell victim to Riverside's swarming defensive attack Tuesday night at home, dropping its contest 52-31.

Riverside took a 27-13 lead into the intermission, which it carried through the final 16 minutes en route to the decisive victory.

"That was a really good team we played," said Mac-Hi head coach Casey Richards. "We played well tonight compared to our last couple of games. There is a lot for us to be proud of."

Mac-Hi was sparked by the return of post presence Makia Carlson, who led the team with eight rebounds.

"I can't say enough how big it was for us to get Carlson back," Richards said. "She is a major presence for us on the interior."

The Pioneers (0-9) continue their search for their first win of the season Friday at La Grande.
