Ronald G. "Ron" Cheesman of 160 S.E. 5th, Milton-Freewater, passed away Jan. 1, 2011, at his home at the age of 49 years. A gathering for family and friends will be held later this spring. Those who wish may make memorial contributions in memory of Ronald "Ron" Cheesman to the Cheesman family or the Walla Walla Community Hospice in care of the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home, 902 S. Main St., Milton-Freewater. The family would like to thank the Walla Walla Community Hospice and Dr. Quackenbush and his staff for all their support.

Ronald Garett Cheesman was born on July 23, 1961, the son of Donald and Marlene (Givens) Cheesman in Pasco. At an early age, the family moved to Milton-Freewater where Ron attended area schools. In 1980, he graduated from McLoughlin High School. After graduation, Ron went to work for Rogers Walla Walla Cannery, American Fine Foods and later for Treetop before his illness couldn't allow him to work anymore. He enjoyed building models, motorcycle riding, 4 wheeling, camping, working on his Mustangs and really enjoyed listening to the rock band Kiss, collecting many of their souvenirs.

Survivors include his parents, Donald and Marlene Cheesman of Milton-Freewater; brothers, Rick Cheesman of Milton-Freewater and Rusty Cheesman of Weston; his grandmother, Bernita Givens of Milton-Freewater; aunt and uncle, Gary and Edna Givens of Kennewick; good friend, Eric Smith of Milton-Freewater and several nieces and nephews. His grandfather, Clyde Givens; two aunts, Patty Strong and Diana Walker and an uncle, David Givens all preceded him in death.
