He was born Jan. 21, 1956, in Walla Walla at the old General Hospital to Shirley Pennington and Dean Lehr. He was raised by his mother and step-father Rex Carver. They lived in Helix for a time then moved back to Walla Walla where "Rob" got his GED from Wa-Hi.
He was the head sawyer at Louisiana Pacific for 18 years. He also got certified in Seattle for handicap and disability care. He worked on the oil rigs in South Dakota for a time also, always coming back to Walla Walla. He worked for the Grant family farming wheat for a time and loved doing harvest. He worked at Key Technology for seven years in stainless steel fabrication.
He was married to Anne Weber and had a son, William Sherod Lehr. He met his wife, Karla, in 1993 and have been together ever since. When he wasn't working, his main goal was to get on his Harley and go for long rides. Sherod and his many friends have their best memories of riding their Harleys. He also loved hunting, 4-wheeling in the mountains and playing his guitar with family. He was known as Sherod to family, Rob to his friends and of course, Curly to his coworkers.
He is survived by his wife, Karla, at the home; one son and one daughter, William "Bill" Lehr and Breanna Hobson; his dad and stepmother, Rex and Louise Carver; one sister and two brothers, Judy Ballard, Joseph Carver and Byron Heckman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley Mae Brock and Dean Lehr.
