RICHLAND - Dayton dropped its third road game of the Southeast 2B season Saturday in boys basketball action, 55-53, to Liberty Christian.

Liberty Christian used a 16-7 third-period run to pull ahead 42-31 to start the fourth. The Bulldogs fought back but came up short as the Patriots hung on for a 55-53 win.

"We had our shots in the third," Bulldog coach Roy Ramirez said. "We couldn't get them to fall."

Dayton only converted 18-of-67 shots, 27 percent, from the field in dropping to 1-3 in the SE 2B.

Garett Turner led the Bulldogs with 20 points and Kroft Sunderland chipped in 10, but it wasn't enough to overcome a bad shooting night.

Dayton travels to play Tekoa-Oakesdale for a non-league game Tuesday.
