COLLEGE PLACE - Walla Walla Valley Academy girls basketball team fell short in a defensive battle at home Saturday, dropping a 27-24 contest against Tri-Cities Prep.

The game came down to the last minute when Prep nailed its lone three of the night to drop WWVA to 1-8.

"It was kind of an ugly game, but it was a solid defensive effort from both teams," said WWVA head coach Monty Buell. "The made the shot to win the game. That's what it boiled down to."
