Pomeroy School District Board members are Paul Ruark, Lori Slaybaugh, Steve Carlson, Bart Gingerich and Ed Sullivan. With all present Monday the board:
- FACILITIES: Discussed task lists to prepare for using rented facilities during the Junior-Senior High School modernization.
- LEVY: Discussed activities prior to levy vote Feb. 8. A flyer is being prepared. Discussion points include the levy total, $661,076, that will be taxed at $2.78 per $1,000 assessed valuation if approved. The levy is for one year and replaces the levy presently being collected. The levy will fund the equivalent of three teachers, a counselor, career technical education, technology updates and services, textbook and curriculum updates, after school program supplies and staff and heating and cooling costs and some general supplies. A forum on the levy will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 24 in the elevated seating area in the high school. Jan. 25 will be a board/community day, with board members available to discuss the levy with community members.
- ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS: Approved sending thank-you letters to the Shepherd Foundation for giving the district $25,315, and to Puget Sound Energy for a $1,000 gift. Unanimous.
- MITIGATION: Passed a resolution approving the multi-hazard mitigation plan. Unanimous.
