OAKESDALE - It was a helter-skelter night of girls basketball at Tekoa-Oakesdale for Dayton as the Bulldogs and T-O combined for 52 turnovers and 144 shots.

When the dust finally settled, T-O had a scored a 60-39 win in an up-and-down affair.

"That was a wild one," said Dayton head coach Scott Hudson. "I'm not one for excuses, but that's a long trip, and we literally got off the bus half an hour before tipoff. I think it showed in how much we struggled in the first half.

"We had 21 turnovers, which is pretty tough to overcome to say the least."

Dayton fell into a 19-point deficit at the break, but the Bulldogs rallied to play a strong third quarter.

"We played probably our best third quarter of the year in this game," Hudson said. "We played hard all the way through. The fact that we were tired and struggled early didn't get to us."

T-O's Alex Overton was the game's high scorer, while Dayton (2-9) was paced by seven from McKayla Bickelhaupt.

Dayton next plays DeSales at home on Saturday.
