Three arrrested in Milton-Freewater drug bust

MILTON-FREEWATER -- Three city residents were arrested Tuesday for investigation of drug-related offenses, said Sgt. Rick Jackson with the Blue Mountain Enforcement Narcotics Team.

Following a three-month investigation, officials served a narcotics search warrant at 105 S. Russell St. at 12:50 p.m., finding more than 3 1/2 grams of crystal methamphetamine and other evidence of drug trafficking, Jackson said. The drug has a street value of about $250.

Arrested were Clinton Clarence Carson, 40, charged with investigation of unlawful possession and unlawful delivery of methamphetamine, and frequenting a place where controlled substances are kept; Lori Jean Taylor, 52, charged with investigation of unlawful possession of methamphetamine and frequenting a place where controlled substances are kept; and Shannon Ann Carson, 30, charged with investigation of frequenting a place where controlled substances are kept. All three were lodged at the Umatilla County Jail.

The close of this investigation wraps up an investigation involving a number of people involved in illegal drug trade in the Milton-Freewater area., the detective said. "We would classify them as a lower-level drug trafficking organization. Through our investigation, we identified these people as supplying uses in and about Milton-Freewater ... enough that they had a pretty organized group of people buying from them."

Charges will be forwarded to the Umatilla County District Attorney's Office for prosecution, he added.

The Blue Mountain Enforcement Narcotics Team is made up of detectives from the Pendleton Police Department, Oregon State Police, Umatilla County Sheriff's Office, Morrow County Sheriff's Office, Milton-Freewater Police Department, Umatilla Tribal Police Department, Hermiston Police Department.
