Information session set on upcoming Cowboy Poetry Week

PRESCOTT -- An informal information evening for those interested in participating in Cowboy Poetry Week (April 17-24) will be held at the Prescott branch of the Walla Walla County Rural Library District Feb. 3 at 6:30 p.m.

The session will be led by librarian Josh Westbrook and Susan and Bruce Matley (aka Nevada Slim and Cimarron Sue.)

Topics of discussion include defining cowboy poetry, an explanation of Cowboy Poetry Week, and a description of the Cowboy Poetry Week Rural Library Project.

Attendees may also learn about how they may participate, and cowboy poetry resources at the library and online.

Following the Feb. 3 session there will be one or more sessions on writing and reciting cowboy poetry.

An evening of cowboy poetry and music is scheduled in Prescott on April 19 at 7 p.m.
