BAKER - Mac-Hi's girls basketball team's quest for its first win of the season will see at least another game as the Pioneers dropped their 12th straight game at Baker, 61-28.

A 22-point second quarter for Baker put the game out of reach as Mac-Hi failed to reach double-digits in any quarter.

"We played a sold game defensively, but we couldn't score enough to hang in there," said Mac-Hi head coach Casey Richards. "We just didn't shoot as well as we know we can."

On the evening, Mac-Hi was led by Avery Wells and Makia Carlson, who both scored eight.

"We stretched our defense, but they still made seven 3s," Richards said. "That really made for a tough night for us. It's hard to handle a team that can shoot like that."

Up next for Mac-Hi is a showdown with La Grande at home on Tuesday.

"I'm proud of our girls," Richards said. "It may not have been the outcome we were looking for, but we still played a good game overall."
