$n$ Pirates rout Lacrosse-Washtucna girls, 46-15

WASHTUCNA - Pomeroy blanked Lacrosse-Washtucna in the second period here Saturday in girls Southeast 1B League basketball action.

The Pirates, after an 8-0 second-quarter run, led 22-5 at intermission and continued to build on that lead for a 46-15 win over L-W.

"It was a good game for us," Pirate coach Nettie Severs said. "We pressured the ball and it really paid off in the first half."

The Pirates got a balanced scoring attack as Kindsey Bott led the way with 11 points.

Torrie Koller, starting in place of Sadie Slaybaugh - who was injured in Friday's 57-38 win over Rosalia - finished with nine for Pomeroy.

HayLee Koller knocked down nine points, led the Pirate rebounders with six and dished out a game-high seven assists.

"HayLee had a great game," Severs said. "Torrie is only a freshman but stepped up and handled the pressure."

The Pirates improve to 7-3 in conference and 11-3 overall. Pomeroy plays a non-league game at Asotin on Tuesday.
