WENATCHEE - Walla Walla Community College's men shot just 23 percent from the field in the second half as Wenatchee Valley lengthened a 29-28 halftime edge to take the 64-52 NWAACC East Region victory Saturday.

"We were just ice cold," Warriors coach Jeff Reinland said. "It was a close game the whole way, but we just didn't seem to bring any energy up here."

Reinland said WWCC held a four-point lead and could have blown the game open, but shots didn't fall.

"The ball just wasn't going into the basket," he said. "They just outplayed us a little bit. It was their homecourt, and things went their way a little more than us."

The Warriors were led by Aaron Corsi's 14 points, and Jason Smith had 11.

Corsi spent quite a bit of time on the bench in foul trouble, Reinland said. Corsi finished with four fouls.

The Knights had 13 points from Brad Irwin and 12 from Kellen Drake.

The Warriors are now 10-6 overall, 3-2 in NWAACC East play, host Spokane Wednesday at 8 p.m.
