PILOT ROCK, Ore. - The Weston-McEwen TigerScots boys had it all in a Blue Mountain Conference 53-43 basketball road victory over Pilot Rock here Friday night
The TigerScots had two big-time scorers Dallas Reich and Tyler Babb. Reich led all scorers with 24 points and Babb was right behind him with 20.
W-M also had standout defensive performances from Elliot Salter with seveb steals and Ron Terjeson with six blocks. Terjeson also finished the night with 10 rebounds.
"It is big for us," W-M coach Brian Pickard said. "When we are patient and can work the ball inside. Then good things happen, especially when we get it inside to Tyler (Babb) and he gets double teamed. Then Tyler is able to hit our open shooters.
"And we need Reich and Babb to score 20 a night. As they go, generally that is how we go."
The Blue Mountain Conference is full of state-ranked OSAA teams, with six of the state's top 18 representing the Northeast Oregon conference.
W-M went into Friday's game ranked eighth and Pilot Rock was 12th.
"It was good to get a road win," Pickard said, "especially there in Pilot Rock. Every game is going to tough in our league."
W-M took a 6-1 league record, 12-4 overall, into a Saturday night home game against Union.
